Here is what I have recently learned about Product-Led Growth (PLG).
Make the sign-up process fun and helpful, so people get excited about using the basic version before they hit any usage limits.
Look at how people use the app without knowing who they are, so we can find out how they're using features in unexpected ways.
Help users help each other by creating places where they can share what they know and ask questions, so they become even more excited about the product.
Use what people do in the app and how they use it to give them advice and tips that are helpful and specific to them.
Try lots of different things, like changing how people first use the app, suggesting new features, and even changing how much we charge, to see what helps the app grow more.
